Recommendations from SPMC will only appear after users have scraped their Audio and Video Libraries to grab the Metadata and Artwork.
SPMC has to already be running as well for Recommendations to popup.
Great question, I currently use SPMC and would like to hear what our community has to say.
Well if everything works in SPMC, why update? Tbh, I didn't even know there was kodi 18 out there.
And I as well will wait for user comments.
Kodi v18 is very much in an alpha stage, so there will be many changes and possible bugs. If you like cutting edge features and don't mind things breaking every so often, go for it. If you just want a stable release that has less issues, stick with v17.x.
Not yet, but later build will include the DRM-interface from the agile branch, thus making watching amazon prime video, Netflix and others through kodi possible
I much prefer the spmc/kpdi 17 interface, probably just because I'm used to it, and with everything working in spmc I will stay on that. Maybe kodi 19 will be the switch for me.
I'll definitely be sticking with SPMC just because it works for for me and my family. If I ever do a factory reset or buy a new device I'll check out Kodi proper again but until then, no need to fix what isn't broken.
