Have to remount my NAS every time i restart my Shield TV

by kchristainsen

Does this happen to anyone else? A possible work around? My plex server is on my shield while the media is on the my NAS so it gets a little annoying remounting my drive every time i have to restart my device.

Yep, happens to me too. Not sure of any solution though.

Its a known bug that is gonna be fixed in the next update.

I use Kodi on my Shield, and don't have this problem with a Samba share. I have once had to reboot my Shield to get everything working right. Kodi was just hanging trying to access the share.

I have a Synology and also have this problem.

Yes me too, exactly the same issue, happening ever since it's possible to put the Shield as a Server. No update fixed that. I have a WD MyCloudEX2 Ultra.

The only thing that fixed this for me was a factory reset. Have a ton of other problems tho.

This happened to me but it was because I was manually adding the NAS. When you go to storage it should be visible to select and then provide your username and password. If you do it manually by UNC path it forgets it on reboot.

Happened to me after a number of system updates. A factory reset made it work again. I haven't had a mounting issue in months. Used to be once a day.

Not sure why you are even restarting often? I restarted my device like once in last 6 months.

You think having a streaming server running from a device that isn't hosting the files is a good idea? You are asking for problems.

Either put plex on your nas or plug the nas into the shield if it's got USB. Or stop using streaming an samba share on the NAS and kodi on your devices, by far the best way.
