Cant move Certain apps to external storage?

Hi, I recently got a 128 ssd to supplement the base line shield's meager storage. Ive been moving apps I can to the external storage but! certain apps like, Kodi, Arial Dream other data hungry apps won't instal to external storage?!? Can anyone tell me how to install apps like Ariel Dream that uses like 8gb of storage to my connected ssd?

EDIT seems enabling developer options and force allowing USB fixes it yay!

Even if you format the extra drive as internal, some apps will not allow themselves to be moved off actual device storage. The app developer needs to update the app to allow itself to be moved. Contact the developers.

On the Mi Box (running the 7.0 Beta), in developer options there's an toggle to allow apps to move to SD regardless of the developer flags. I now have literally everything but Kodi installed on a SSD.

Is there not a corresponding developer option on the shield? Is this a 7.0 only thing?
