I maybe jumping to mi box bandwagon really soon. However I wanted to know if the USB port at the back of the box would be able to save stuff/s downloaded from Kodi (ex movies downloaded on exodus or quasar) or from my laptop to Kodi.

I've download once from Kodi. I had some trouble finding the path through Kodi, but googled how to find portable drive. Maybe that's why people assume they can't?
You can also save to the box and copy it to the drive.
I don't think so. I haven't been able to write to my HD connected to the Mibox. You may need to format it as internal storage, but then I think you can't use it as a portable storage anymore.
Would be interesting to hear from others.
