Adding IR commands to the Mi Box

by zbaylin

I have a Mi Box and would like to expand its IR capabilities. Has anyone figured out a way to do so? A good example would be to launch Netflix when a certain button on the remote is pressed. I have a fully programmable IR remote, so this is not a concern. Any help is appreciated!

Use whichever button remapping program you prefer & set it to 'launch' whichever app you select for that particular key press.

What Logitech has now is all the available commands. You would have to change files in the Mi Box to potentially add IR commands.

I checked every 256 codes that the Mi Box support (actually double that since their power button uses another set of 256 codes, but none did anything except for the 1 power command). Those were sent to Logitech and updated by them. There are a few unknown commands that has a response but I can't figure out what they actually do.

For your example would require scripts or a remote to have scripts. Logitech can do it but I can only get it to work with 1second delays per step. So it I want it to go to Netflix where I have it it would look like: Home, 1 sec delay, left, 1sec delay, left, 1 sec delay, down, 1 sec delay, Select.

Less steps, less time, but it's quicker for me manually. Without the delay it goes too fast and does first and last command. Maybe changing delays help, but then it is more lag during normal usage.

Does the Mi Box even have an IR receiver?
