have the american vers of the mi box. I am using a usb to ethernet adapter so is connected direct.
sometimes when leaving the house and turning off the unit, when coming back it is deaf and dumb. wont detect internet sig.
so unplug it and reboot and that fixes it.
advice?
Factory Reset
As Marketcast said, try a factory reset.
That isn't normal behavior, at least that has never happened to me. Even when I lose my internet, it automatically signs me back in when it is found (immediately).
Is it that it just doesn't wake up when pressing a button on the remote? I have that issue (not using wired Ethernet) I'll leave for the day come back and it's unresponsive. Have to unplug and plug it back in.
Well consider that the samsung galaxy im typing on has an app from samsung that will do a scheduled restart weekly now if my $800 Android phone needs to be restarted weekly what do you think your $70 mibox needs
It's your USB adapter. I had the same issue when I used USB 2.0 versions. Tried three different versions and all three stopped working after turning the Mi Box off and back on.
You need a USB 3.0 adapter. Good one to get is this:

I have no more issues with internet connections. It's been working flawless for a couple months now without needing to reboot.
