KlowdTV

by partytime71

In my attempt to watch OANN I installed the KlowdTV app on my nVidia Shield. It's in the google play store and installed just fine. I signed up for the free trial. When I launch the app I get a log-in screen, which in and of itself is very clunky to enter my email and password, then it goes to a menu that offers their guide, channel list, and a couple of other options (I don't recall, but there are 4 buttons). But whenever I pick a channel or a program it gives a notice in the top left corner that says something like "error loading data: cannot load". Works fine in a browser on my desktop. Anyone get it to work properly on an AndroidTV?

You should probably contact the developer to see what they suggest.

Had the same issue when I tried it along with some additional stupidity because it complained that I had too many things logged in when I tested it out on my Android phone then tried it in my browser on the laptop. I ended up canceling it and getting service directly from OANN on the Roku. I picked up one for Black Friday and they still sell them for $25 at Walmart so that could be your best bet.

It doesn't seem like very many places want to support AndroidTV...and why should they when even Google ignores the platform?

Did you bother to clear the app cache or reboot your Shield after install? Usually fixes any issues I have with apps not loading.

Had the identical problem with my KlowdTV app on the nVidia Shield, too.

My solution, now that DirecTVNow has OANN, was to dump both KlowdTV and PS Vue, and go with DirecTVNow. The buffering issues they had at startup are gone (too bad I can't still get the "Go Big" package for $35 anymore).

It ain't in the Google Play store, but there is an Android TV DirecTVNow app that can be sideloaded onto the Shield over at apkmirror.com. The OnDemand doesn't work and video is a bit choppy for the first 90 seconds or so when you tune a channel, but it will do until there's an actual Google Play Store app.
