[MiBox] Does any one have Google Cast working on their MiBox?

Question

I can't get my MiBox to appear in Google Chrome/Google Home app as a Chromecast device. All the forum posts appear to end with no solution.

Does anyone actually have Google Cast working here? And what did you do to get it to work?

As long as it's on the same subnet as your other devices, it should be able to see them.

Mine was buggy at first but last I tried it was working properly. (2nd device) I read that it is essential to factory reset out of the box and I think fixed it. I may have uninstalled the Googlecasthe update from the box. Give it a whirl

At first when I bought mine the Google Cast Receiver app needed updating but was not doing it automatically. I had to open the Play Store, search for the Google Cast Receiver listing and trigger the update manually, then it started working without a problem.
