I'm getting crazy as my Android TV box loses audio all the time and I have to change input channels back and forth, or restart my TV in order to regain sound.

Try switching digital audio to PCM or any of the other options. The HDMI (default one) works really funky for me. Enable CEC on your TV if for some reason that might improve compatibility in terms of HDMI handshakes (hey - it's Android, you never know!).
