It's up to the specific live channels app your using. I just added DVR support to my app today, and recordings made anywhere in the house are available on all the boxes (I was able to do this, as we record satellite TV onto a server rather than directly onto the Android TV box, i.e. it depends what the live channels app your using is integrating with).
No, it's a very simple, single device DVR.
