Wifi connection is lost 99% of the time when turned on after being off for a while. The only way to connect back to wifi is hold down the power button (which performs a restart/reboot).

what about hard wiring it? Mine is and it never loses connection
Try turning on "remote start" or "network standby" under network settings. This keeps wifi running during standby modes so that you can turn the TV on remotely from mobile devices.
