Tried to watch the EA presser today. Had the same issue. Wouldn't play. Had to cast it.
live shows often give me an error on the youtube app on the mibox (error/retry) but if i cast the same live show from phone or computer to mibox, it works flawlessly.
same here, if i shut down and reboot, it will work, but once u stop playback and try to play again it wont load. some other live streams may work but alot will end up with error.
Some streams work, some not. IDG E3 worked but E3's own was just a spinning circle and then "error". This sucks real bad. Wanted to watch Xbox Scorpio event in 4K on YouTube tonight.
Same here, Chrome cast broken too.

It's a colossal failure on Google's part to have such a broken YouTube app on their own OS. Ironically, YouTube works very well on Apple TV.
Edit: I just watched a few minutes of the PlayStation E3 stream, then when I tried to access it again momentarily, I got an error. Which has since persisted. Great job, YouTube software engineers!
They work when they're actually live. After the stream ends, the YouTube app shows that it can be watched, but crashes when it opens. The videos with fine for me when it's actually live or the account publishes the stream as a normal upload.
hrm. i don't seem to have this problem.
there is a 'down' period after a live broadcast before the same yt uri is available as previously recorded content, though.
Seems to be going around. Folks are reporting the same w/ Playstation Vue
