I had this problem with my AppleTV remote...I just bought a case for it and remarkably it solved the problem 100%. The case is rubberized and I think just the texture, not the small bit of bulk it added, was what solved the problem.
I also bought a Tile for it and glued/stuck it in the case and that solved the losing it in other places than the couch cushion problem. I must use the Tile a least twice a week to locate it.
Great idea! As someone who loses that remote at least once a day, that does seem very handy. I have a pretty small bedroom, but it still manages to utterly disappear for hours at a time, pretty much daily.
I had this problem too. So I bought a harmony remote and consolidated all of them and made my system easier to use for guests with the digital labeling of buttons.
But your wood looking thing is nice too.
I really wish there was a PC remote.
I will buy one from you. Amazing. The thing is always lost.
