Nvidia Shield Setup

Last week, I asked about getting a Steam Link or Nvidia Shield

https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/6fn11s/steam_link_or_nvidia_shield_2/

I finally decided, and got a Nvidia Shield Pro

Is there a way to stream non Steam(or non Nvidia stream) games, or to stream my PC trough the Shield?

Thanks

Nvidia software on your PC by default will load any games it finds on your hard drive, even non steam games. You can also manually add any .exe, so any app can be streamed.

Streaming your entire PC is possible, but it would be better to just add individual programs that you would use. However, keep in mind that Gamestream compresses the picture and audio quality if you are on a wireless connection.

In GeForce Experience on your gaming PC, you can add not officially supported games for gamestreaming.

Just go to settings in the top right (the gear symbol) and then select SHIELD on the left. Example

Under the games tabs, you can also add other locations for GFE to scan.

As you can see in mine, I have separate locations added for Ubisoft, Origin, and Steam.

Any other gamestream questions, fire away. I have been using it for over a year without issue. Far better than my experience was with steam link.

You can stream your entire primary monitor by setting up RDP streaming: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3489/~/shield-portable-remote-desktop
