Small AndroidTV Televisions?

by inflagrante

Hope someone can point me in the right direction - trying to find a tv with built in Android TV/Casting etc. that's 32 inches or less (ideally less) - to go in a kitchen.

Have a big Bravia in another room already, and was hoping to just get another to maintain consistency, but Sony only seem to make large screen android tvs as far as I can see.

Found 'Cello' who seem to produce smaller android tvs, but not sure if they're decent or not....or if they'll integrate into my casting world okay! Any other brands etc. people would recommend (not mucking about with a box etc. as it needs to be integrated for ease of use/space considerations)...

edit - I'm in the UK

You're better off buying the best looking TV in your budget at the size you want and then supplementing it with a detached device. Add a $70 Mi Box for the full experience or maybe just a $35 Chromecast to keep things simple.

Based on a few reviews I've seen of Cello's 'Android' TV's, they are just running standard Android and not Android TV so that would be a fat no in that direction.

Sadly from what I have seen most TV's with Android TV built in are at the high end size-wise. I've never seen one 32" or below.

I would strongly recommend getting a dumb TV and pairing it with a MiBox. While the high end market is almost entirely dominated by smart TVs, the lower end market (which is where you're going if you're getting a small TV to go in the kitchen) has plenty of fine dumb TVs available. You can just velcro the box to the back of the TV and you're good.

The downside is that small/cheap TVs usually have poor hardware specs that benefit smart features.

If you can't find a decent Android TV then alternatively you might consider a 4K Roku TV (TCL?) and a Mi Box (MDZ-16-AB). Best of both worlds.

Honestly a 32 inch or smaller TV running a Fire Stick is your best bet. I know it's not necessarily Android TV, but that little thing is a beast, and especially good for smaller TVs (have one in my 32 inch TV in the bedroom).

EDIT: I find it funny how I was somehow downvoted for trying to help...

Thanks everyone, looks like I might just go for a non-android smart TV and suck it up... Shame, guess there's not enough of a market anymore for Sony to be interested. Wee projector looked cool, but brightly lit room etc. And separate box isn't compatible with young kids. Thanks again...
