nexus player vs mibox for gaming??

by switch_laser

were any improvements made for games on the mi box vs whats available/works for the nexus player? its growing close to time to get something new for an android tv experience. not really sure i want to jump into the cost of a shield tv, so the mi box may be my only other option.

I got a shield on sale on Prime day last year. Its by far my favorite streaming device. Works great, handles just about everything I throw at it.

Bite the bullet and drop the cash for the Shield if you are at all interested in gaming.

I'd get the Mi Box. It's a newer device with better hardware. It should run the Android games a lot better then the NP. Heck, it might even be more compatible since the NP had an Intel chip and not an ARM like almost every phone/tablet on the market.

I don't see where the games play any better or worse. It's just that the MiBox doesn't have the ability to install games to external storage which limits the number of games you can have installed at one time. I'm not a big gamer but I can get interested in a few different ones at a time.
