My 2015 Sony Bravia XBR55X850C just got a new update, installing now.

I'm not sure what's new in this update yet, I stopped home at lunch and saw the prompt to update and started the update before heading back to work. I'll update this post when I get home with any changes I see. Hopefully it's the 7.0 update!

Update : Unfortunately, no 7.0 (Release notes: https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/swu-download.pl?mdl=XBR55X850C&upd_id=11218&os_group_id=18 ). The only difference I can see so far is that it's now on the May 1, 2017 patch level; too early to tell if performance was actually improved. I'm in the U.S. btw.

unfortunately I feel my 2015 Bravia won't get 7.0 just because it's not 4K.

There is some talk about it in r/Bravia not 7.0 seems to be performance improvement the Australian version also mentions 'Support Hybrid Log-Gamma HDR for HDMI' in the change log
