Are there any scams I should look out for. I'm going to be ordering from Amazon, the international version. And I was wondering if there's any trials or subscriptions that I need to cancel when I first get it. Or anything that will need my bank information?
No, nothing like that. Only scam, if your can call it that, is ensuring you get the correct model. There's a lot of them and they look very similar. The box ships with very vanilla Android. The 'mi recommendations' are the only thing I disabled.
Everything on the box itself is opt in. So if you want Spotify, Hulu, plex, Netflix, you can sign up from the box (or likely get a ref code to sign up on the website with a computer) which will have their own terms per service.
Just picked one up at Walmart this week. Login with your google account and you are good to go. They tried to get me to sign up for SlingTV with a discount and make it autostart when you turn on the box but i said no and it hasn't asked me again.
Model #MDZ-16-AB is andriod tv so there is nothing that will scam you on start up that being said that model is the only one running andriod tv.
