mibox + retroarch 1.6.0 setup?

by bauced

anyone have this working? I for the life of me cant get any of my joysticks to work for games:

  1. default mibox remote
  • doesnt move anything on the menu
  1. AndroidTV app via my android phone
  • I can move the menu and select items (this is my most successful device)
  1. wireless xbox 360 controller via usb adapter
  • connects but d pad does not work

  • only the analog left moves the menu but very erratically, seems to jump 4-5 menu items each tap of any direction

  • I can get to input mapping via 2) above but as soon as i connect the xbox 360 wireless controller i cant control anything with 2) anymore

  1. generic logitech pc joystick
  • buttons don't do anything

Anyone have success with any other devices? Or maybe I need to downgrade to another retroarch?

Retroarch is pretty frustrating since it doesn't auto-configure things very well IME. For my setup, I had to plug in a USB keyboard to navigate, then go into settings to map my controller buttons. (I've switched back to using individual emulators instead of Retroarch now, though.)

Follow these instructions starting at "Navigating the GUI" https://www.libretro.com/index.php/getting-started-with-retroarch/ Hope that helps.

Been running Mi Box (Android 7.0 beta since March) with RetoArch 1.6.0 and it runs great, NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. There is an Android bug with browsing folders which is fixed in the nightlies, but no issue with a USB SNES controller:

Also PS3/PS4 controllers work but not as authentic in feel so don't really use them.
