MiBox Netfix issue fix?

by DoYouEvenWindows

Has there been any progress on a fix to the issue with Netflix throwing up an error after playing anything for a minute or two?

This topic has been beaten to death.

Either your TV (or AV equipment in between) does not support the DRM security features dictated BY NETFLIX or there is a very scant possibility your MiBox is not recognizing the DRM capability of your device(s).

Download and run DRMINFO from your MiBox and you will see precise details why your system is not working as it is designed to.

There is about a 99% chance your TV or video equipment does not support HDCP 1+.

Try on another TV of newer, more popular make.

You need to buy a hdmi splitter that will bypass HDCP protocol Mi Box is sending to the TV. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072C5NJZF/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Ok so I've done some testing on this. I have 2 mi boxes, one runs netflix fine on both my tv's the other doesn't work on either. The one that seems fine has HDCP 1.x on both tv's. The one where Netflix gets the error says unprotected on both. So imo this is not a tv issue. My guess is certain mi boxes have some DRM hardware or software issues.

I think Netflix had a few updates. I never had that issue before, so not exactly sure if it fixed the problem you had.

Is that a known thing? I've had mine since it came out and never had a problem with Netflix on it.

there are a handful mi boxes that have issues with HDCP 1.x. If you connect you mibox to an HDCP 2.2 compliant device like a 4k tv or hdmi splitter this should be fixed.. Download drm info and if it shows that you have a HDCP unprotected under widevine then HDCP communication with your tv and mibox are not working.

Also be aware the ATV Netflix App now has additional security measures built into it.

For those using Smart DNS services to bypass Geoblocking and sneaking into the US Netflix library. Netflix now looks for additional Google DNS servers and can throw up an error.

This happens on all Android TV platforms.

I have two Mi Boxes - an original USA Spec one and one from Aliexpress. Never had a Netflix HDCP error using these on 5 different branded TV's.

I have netflix on roku and android tv on the same TV. netflix on roku works fine and netflix on android tv errors out. So its not the TV.

Guys you only have to change the Xiaomi oreginal HDMI cable to a better one and it will work perfectly..
