MIbox and apps not showing up

by johny696969

If I slideload or install apps from aptoide those apps don't show on the home screen I have to go to settings apps to launch them.

Am I missing something or is this limited by the OS

I will need to check but I think my Android TV apps show up on the home page

Late to the party, but I can't believe no one mentioned Tv App Repo.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=news.androidtv.tvapprepo.playstore&hl=en

It's available from the TV Play Store, and it creates native leanback shortcuts for non-leanback apps.

This is exactly what you're looking for.

Yeah android TV needs apps with leanback icons for the leanback launcher. You could replace the launcher, but the more normal option is to install "side load launcher" from the play store. It gives you an app on your home screen that will load a normal android app drawer

As already mentioned use the Sideload / Launcher App installed from the ATV Playstore.

Then realise you need some sort of mouse - and then you will find Apps will not be correctly oriented for the TV screen.

So then you have to use some sort of Android orientation App, then you realise the layout is still wrong. Swear at Google and then give up on using a whole bunch of tablet Apps on any Android TV device.

Drinking Beer is much less complicated ;-)
