Mi Box Remote won't pair

Hi all,

A couple of days ago I had a power outage at home and when I switched on the Mi box the remote wasn't working. I tried repairing it but couldn't find a way. I went to settings and pressed the add devices mode and tried pressing back and home at the same time but I couldn't pair the remote again. Tried changing batteriess as well. Nothing is working and it's a pain in the ass because I have to disconnect it from the power every time I switch it off to turn it back on and it takes ages for my IPTV app to load.

Can someone please help?

remove battery from remote for 10 seconds and try normal pairing...

hold down 2 lower small buttons and keep remote within 12 inches of mibox. You will hear a beep to signify pairing was successful

Connect a wired mouse, go into the bluetooth settings and remove the remote, reboot and try again.

if you have another android tv box to test, then you can pair it via bluetooth. i'm using a wetek hub rom and it paired normally and I can use it. https://i.imgur.com/Vf51AXe.png

I've got the same issue with my 2nd MiBox. Started out being flakey where it would drop in and out, and now it finally won't connect/pair at all. tried new batts, and still no go. Fortunately I use a wireless mini keyboard, so don't really need the remote (but miss the voice activation)

You can download the Mi Remote app from GooglePlay on your phone (maybe a USB mouse/keyboard would work too).

From the app or mouse, go into settings and unpair your remote and repair it from there.

That should work, but worse scenario would go into settings and do a system restore. That will delete all apps and force you to start fresh.

happened to me other day.. take the batteries out and the power from the box for 10 min..

then the pair screen showed to me..

Happened to me, return it to Walmart, or if you can't, you will need a new remote
