AirTV Player gets no love in this sub, but it is a full AndroidTV box, only with a home screen and a remote both customized to focus on SlingTV. So, I recommend looking into it specifically if you are a SlingTV subscriber. If you're not a SlingTV subscriber, then you can probably stop reading now...

Other benefits of the AirTV Player include: 1) local channels, received through the OTA adapter, appear in the guide along with streaming cable-only channels; and 2) the remote is universal and has built-in IR blaster for controlling TV power and volume.

The universal remote is pretty slick. I just bought a new TV and the AirTV Player detected the new TV and changed the remote settings automatically - it was magic.

AirTV Player + Adapter is $130 and comes with a $50 SlingTV credit for a net cost of $80.

Well there's only two Android TV consoles available right now and one of them is $180+. Looks like you're going with a Mi Box if you want the Android TV operating system.

I am in love with the MAGICSEE Iron+. Bought mine in FT and it is only less than $90

Nexus Player, $50 at newegg. MiBox is probably better, but if you want to save $20. https://flash.newegg.com/Product/9SIAAM856E1118

Mi Box, FireTV Box, or AppleTV. It's up to your preference on OS.

I prefer Mi Box.
