Nvidia Shield TV - Ps4 connectivity issues

by thrownaway777789

Hey guys,

My Nvidia Shield TV (2017) just arrived. My plan was to use this for party games with friends when they're over, using PS4 controllers as my extras besides the original Shield controller.

However, I'm running into an issue where the PS4 controller, after connecting, starts lagging at approximately 30 seconds. Not only that, but the mapping is all off as well - as an example O is X and vice versa. I can't navigate menus because it sometimes doesn't register my button presses, yet alone play games.

The whole reason I bought this thing was to play games with friends on the couch, but right now it's looking like Ill have to take a loss.

Anyone know how to fix this?

How do you even get the controller to connect? I have a PS4 Pro controller, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but I can't even get mine to connect. Says device isn't supported.

Nobody seems to have this issue?

I can attest to the lag and the miss mapped buttons but not sure what can be done about it, seems like a driver issue as my Xbox one controller works fine.

Only de PS4 controllers version 1 can connect with the shield natively. The new PS4 controller version 2 (2016) has this issue. The only solution is rooting the shield and using sixaxis.

necroing this post to see if someone found a Fix for this issue.

I also have one of the newest PS4 controllers and cannot use it .

Keys are mapped randomly and the lag is stupid.
