Hi guys!
I bought a Mi Box specially to see Youtube TV. Since the Youtube TV app is not compatible with Android TV, I have to cast it. Well, it should be cast compatible. It is, but sometimes it just doesn't show up in the list of castable devices.
Right now I am trying to cast Netflix, Regular Youtube and Youtube TV but none of them can see the MiBox. However all apps can see a Chromecast in my daughter's bedroom.
This is very frustrating!
Any ideas on how to solve this?
Does your router use two frequencies? If so make sure you're on the correct one.
Disable sleep by enabling developer mode and disabling sleep. This prevents the box from sleeping which cause the cast receiver to disappear until you reboot the mi box.
Doesn't help the casting part, but at least for getting the incompatible app working have you tried sideloading it? Might require you to set up a mouse to use it if it hasn't been optimized for dpad navigation, but if you don't mind that a lot of not TV compatible apps work fine
Have you updated the Google Cast Receiver app on the Xiaomi? I had to do it, reboot like 3 times and now most of the Casting problems are gone
