After upgrading to the new YouTube app, 4K videos only play at 1440p. With the old version they played at 2160p. The PS4 YouTube app plays 4K videos at 4K, does any one else have this issue? I went back to 1.3 as there is no practical difference. And the difference between 2160 and 1440 is noticeable. I have a Sony XE9305.
I've just reverted back to the previous version of the app. Being able to disable autoplay isn't worth all the other things that represent a step backwards.
Another option is to sideload the superior and full featured Android phone and tablet version of the app. If you have a mouse or air mouse it's perfectly usable.
Same for me. PS4 YouTube plays in 4K and Mi Box Android TV doesn't. Meanwhile I still have no YouTube 2.0, Mi Box is still on 1.3 last updated over a year ago... Android TV support is pathetic.
Just got the update and not single video plays 4k on my Mibox the old version played it fine
Same problem, very few videos stay 4K now...
