Has the newest beta update been released yet? I'm nervous to switch my main box to beta but I'd like to know what's apparently new.
I have a Chromecast for the upstairs "dumb" TV and my smart TV has one built-in. I'm on an Android, my wife is on iOS. We've had zero issues casting to either TV. That said, I'm always up to try something new and test out new features on stuff. Since I'm typically the only one who casts to the downstairs TV, doing some beta testing on it will only affect me if it's glitchy.
Can casting be turned off or restricted? I've got a 5 year old who has her own tablet. Can't get enough of YouTube kids and we have 2 nexus players and a mi box.
Will this finally allow my Google Home to cast directly to my Shield? I was pissed when I upgraded my 25 dollar chrome cast to a 200 dollar Shield TV only to find out that my home "Can't cast to AndroidTV yet, please use the android tv remote." WTF GOOG
Don't people realise Google actually want you to buy their very own Google cast Hardware for the "Full Google Cast experience". ;-)
Anything else like Google Cast Receiver Software on Android TV platforms is just a token effort.
Casting can't get much worse than it is on my mi box. So, why not!
