How to edit HDMI CEC?

Question

I bought myself a mi box and I have a problem that every time I turn off the TV, it turns off the mi box, but turning on the tv does not turn on the mi box(I don't have the mi box remote). This makes it so I have to get up and unplug and replug the mi box in order to turn it on. Is there any change the HDMI CEC so it doesn't turn off when the tv turns off(I don't mind messing with root to get this to work)

If you load the (leaked) beta Nougat rom there are HDMI-CEC settings now which you can toggle indivually. Think I found it on XDA forums, and for me is as stable (if not more so) than the marshmallow rom.

Enable developer mode in Android and in developer options set to never sleep.

If you know how to root these things let us know. I think that's the only method that'll let you modify anything to do with CEC
