Just got a new update for my Mi Box. Still 6.0.1 -_- but has July 2017 security update. Build is now 1304. Haven't noticed anything else yet.

Not trying to sound like a jerk. Just actual curiosity. Why does everyone seem to care so much about an update to Nougat? Oreo I can understand if you like and want the new interface. Were there really any new features or anything for the Nougat update?
Update has been out since the beginning of the week.
Updated both of my boxes without any issues. Now on July security patch.
If you're still having problem getting OTA update to take on your NON-NOUGAT box, here is direct link where you can download the July 6.01 update
Copy it over to USB thumb drive and install thru recovery
Oh, I hate you... You got me all worked up with thinking this was finally Nougat, but this update has been out since last week...
Mine wont update. It downloaded the patch and is stuck on "Rebooting Now" I can cancel it and I can manually reboot the Mibox, but the patch wont install.
Yeah. But it stops at Rebooting now prompt. Doesn't reboot, update is not installed. Manual reboot doesn't help either. image
My Mi Box actually tried to install this update on my Febuary 1 security Android 7.0 beta and of course failed. It's so pathetic how poor the support for Andrioid TV is it's like Google doesn't even want it to exist.
Still no YouTube 2.0 either.
I just bit the bullet and factory reset the mi box.. Re-downloaded the update, restarted right away. Have to test it later to see if my Netflix issue has been resolved, but one step at a time...
