Hi all, anyone experiencing problems with YouTube videos randomly not loading on Mi box 4K International version? Problem persists even on the latest OTA firmware update (July 2017). Cleared app cache, and even paired with the YouTube app on my iPhone: videos loading fine on phone but not on Mi box. Also tried both wifi and LAN, same result.
Something to do with DRM / ads maybe? Located in Athens, Greece.

I've contacted the support and they told me to try basic steps (clear data, reinstall app, factory reset), all I already try without success
And finally, if it's still not work, they told me to wait an update

I suspect another app is interfering, try to reboot and then launch YouTube, see if the problem persists.
YouTube is one of the 100% rock solid apps I've used on the mi box. Dig through the system menu and force stop YouTube, or reboot. Not 100% sure you can force stop YouTube that way as I think it's considered a system app. The mi box on marshmallow is horrible at managing apps, and sleep the box seems to make the problem worse.
If a reboot don't fix it you can try a factory reset, just ensure you understand what that gets you into.
Problem still persists after a factory reset! Turned on stats for nerds (bit of a pain to find it on the updated app), connection speed is prime, buffer health is prime, network activity is zero kb!... Crazy thing is that it's completely random whether a video plays or not. In my case after the factory reset, first video I got didn't play, second video did play, third video didn't play. These exact same videos play normally on my iPhone.

This is completely annoying, I have really bad experience with this TV box. The most two important things for me are not working fine! Netflix and YouTube! And based on my search in the internet I see that Netflix problem is there for really really long long time, and I'm not seeing either of Netflix or Xiaomi taking this matter seriously! And since there is nothing you can do with Netflix I went to youtube to watch some stuff ... and WTF? This box is piece of junk. It has been several months since you posted this and has not been fixed yet! That is clearly mean the company is ignoring these critical problems.
Turn on Stats for nerds in Youtube. For me, it's all vp9 videos since the last update. Everything else plays fine.
