Install Live Channels App outside of the USA

Hey guys,

Just wanted to get any non-usa residents take on getting the "Live Channels" app installed on my MiBox.

When I bought the box from the states the Live Channels app was pre-installed. I made a USA locale gmail account to sign in with and everything went smoothly.

Cut to yesterday, I went to update the box with the july security patch and had to factory reset.

I can search the live channels app in the play store, see that it's downloaded and installed but I get no shortcut and no option to "Open" like I do with other apps.

Does anyone have a workaround? I'd like to get the live channels app back onto my box :( Thanks!

You need to install one of the channel sources first before the Live Channels will appear on the screen as an app. Something like Pluto, Cumulus, etc.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do believe that Google hasn't opened up the ability to record TV shows in Live Channels outside the US. I am in Canada and have the HDHomeRun tuner, but I am unable to see the "Network Tuners" as recording sources from inside the Live Channels Settings configuration. If anyone at Google is reading this, please allow us Canadians to record from Live Channels, not just view TV channels. Fingers crossed.
