Uninstall updates for new YouTube app works

The new app lacks ability to switch between channels/accounts. A fatal flaw in my opinion. Fortunately, uninstalling the update works. Go to settings, apps, YouTube, uninstall updates.

Yeah, I rolled back. Will have to move forward at some point, but hopefully they will make the new version less buggy before I'm forced to update.

On my Sony kd55xd8599 the new app menu is very laggy while the native app has always felt quite responsive. Also the impossibility of switching account is a fatal flaw. Immediately uninstalled

Unfortunately Google never let's things like this continue after they are found. Betting uninstalling won't work in a month, and then you'll have to sideload the APK from a website, which hopefully they won't block from their servers.

..or you could install 1.3.11 if you're not already using an alternate front end to access their content?

Yea, the update was awful. They need to try again with a different design. I also turned off auto updates just is case they make it so you cant roll back again after an update.

Surprised there's no 3rd party youtube app for Android TV yet. I'd pay $5 or more for a decent one. Even the old app is this barely developed thing that does just the basics.

Still early, but I don't like the UI and sounds. But I'm glad it finally defaults to HD.

I haven't noticed any real issues with the new app worth uninstalling. Sure it's disappointing having waited so long (over 1 year for an Android TV) update and just get this mediocre thing. Google's Android TV support is pathetic.

My apps couldn't open links in YouTube for movies trailers etc so I downgraded back.

The new app is not very tv friendly and I like the simplicity and ease of use of the old one.

I just re subscribed to all the channels I did before on the main account it logs you into. I may be in the minority but I'm enjoying the new YouTube app on shield
