Nexus Player and Kodi Audio Syncing. Any other media library players that can play natively?

There's a million threads around about this, but none of them appear to be specific to my issue. Kodi on my Nexus Player just cannot stay synced with the Audio, particularly if I scrub through the video, and no amount of audio delay setting can fix it, it varies too much.

I have a similar system wide issue that I can fix by simply switching to another HDMI source and back again. But the Kodi issue I just can't crack, tried various versions, as well as forked versions out there. But they're all the same.

Plex is fine, however for a lot of content I need to have the Audio Transcoded, which slows things down a tad, and if I want subtitles, it has to transcode the video, and my QNAP NAS host doesn't have the grunt for that.

VLC is fine, but it doesn't provide the nice UI experience.

What are my options? I just can't settle with a system that I just pick up and watch, I have to switch around depending on the content that I'm watching. Which is fine for me. But for my missus who isn't overly tech savvy it's frustrating.

Archos Media Player is pretty foolproof with a great ui.
