Any way to stream device audio to an Android phone?

by CaffeinatedCatholic

I'd like to be able to stream the sound from my MiBox to my phone so I can listen with my headphones wirelessly. I have this set up on my PC with SoundWire, but was wondering if anyone has a method for doing something similar on Android TV.

I haven't had any luck, but I thought I'd give it a shot here. Thanks!

Bluetooth headphones Edit: mibox has bluetooth you can connect the headphones directly to the mibox nothing else needed

I've looked for a while and not many solutions, they have software to stream to a pc but that makes it complicated. Can probably do Bluetooth. Roku android app can play audio from a Roku which is exactly what you want.

My current solution is this pair of headphones. Sennheiser RS 160 RF Wireless Headphones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002SOU2Y0 it plugs into the back of my TV. My nexus player plugs into the TV by hdmi. Any device connected or the TV audio itself will pass through.

I can turn the volume to zero or mute the TV and it still passes the audio to the headphones. I watch shows every night with it.

Sounds like you want a server for serving up your music. You might want to take a look at Plex, you can set it up on your PC then stream to you phone or Mibox. You can forego the PC setup and use the cloud based Plex if you get a Plex membership. This solution would allow you to do the same with movies and pictures also.
