I have the Mi box, its a great starter box into the world of Android. I will be buying a Shield in the future for my new 4k beast of a tv and keeping the Mi box for bedroom. Don't worry about what you get if you plan on going the Kodi route.
I have both, Shield and MiBox. MiBox is perfectly serviceable. Netflix works well, I have Plex up and running with a desktop PC as a server and HBO Go works perfectly. Using a smart DNS service to access geo locked content.
Shield has been top-notch. If you have the money go for it but don't be turned off on the MiBox. It's a great little box.
If you want streaming only than that is a great box. If you need android gaming/PC streaming than you got to spend the money on a Shield.
Telus PIK tv looks good too. But they wont let u buy it unless u get their pik tv subscription. https://www.telus.com/en/ab/tv/pik/tech-specs
I would spend extra and get the shield. I have both and it's definitely worth the extra money, plus HBO Go doesn't work for me on Mibox
There's only one legitimate Android TV version of the Mi Box, just to clarify, and it's the one you linked. That particular seller is over charging by about $30 though, you can get it direct from Xiaomi on Amazon for $129 , and you can probably do better than that if you buy from the states and get it re-shipped or take a trip down.
People will tell you to get the Shield instead, but it's in a whole different price range and not a fair comparison. For the price, the Mi Box is just fine.
