Add the resolution button back as well and I'll be happy

Translation: we tried to sneak this through, but too many people caught it.

That's a good start. They also need to give us the option to set video quality ourselves by remembering the last resolution and frame rate chosen. It doesn't ramp up fast enough, but even then, I would just prefer to set it myself. I don't want to watch even 10 seconds of a video in 480p or lower on a big screen TV.

Google can leave the default to 'auto' and make the ability to choose your own video parameters an option that must be turned on in settings if they insist on wrongly assuming that choosing a video quality isn't something most people can do for themselves these days.

Sounds like total bollocks ... The Amazon FireTV has long used the web-based interface that the AndroidTV has started using and supports 'brand accounts' with no problems ... as does the PS4 which also appears to use that interface.

I've actually stopped using YouTube on my TV and Shield and have gone back to my crappy old Gen1 Amazon Firestick because all my subs are on my original, no longer supported by Android TV, youtube account.

Account issues aside, Google need to put some serious work into the HTML interface, it's sadly lacking compared to the native Android TV app.

I experienced drastic decrease in performance in the version that was release last week. Combined with the commonly known feature removals, that means I won't be updating until I can guarantee that the quality is up to scratch.

I have two YouTube accounts. Both under the same Gmail address.

The new app defaults to the YouTube account I do not use. And there is no way to change it.

I've lost every single subscription and recommendation. It has seriously fucked up my life.
