Problems with USB drive - MiBox

by carlos_online

Hi guys,

I have a MiBox and I have a Samsung USB drive connected to it. I formatted it as Android Internal Storage. The launcher was unresponsive so I had to unplug the MiBox. Unfortunately it seems this messed up with the USB drive since it shows a message saying "USB Drive was safely disconnected" when I connect it.

I removed the USB drive and took a look at it in my Windows computer and it looks fine. I could see the Android files on it.

However, how can I fix this on my MiBox? I really didn't want to factory reset it.

Any ideas?

Try reformatting the drive on your computer and the do it again on the Mi Box.

Wall or usb powered drive?

If the drive gets its power over USB, then you'll need to connect it through a powered USB hub to get it to work. This is common for lots of devices, especially smart TVs with USB ports for playback.

I find that some drives wont be seen unless its connected while the MiBox powers on and not just the on/off butto0n on the remote, but physically re-connecting the power cord while the drive is connected.

SOLVED!

Hi guys, thank you for everyone who helped me. Actually what happens is that, sometimes it takes quite a while for Android to have the whole thing working. It took around 5 minutes but eventually it could see the USB drive and everything was working fine.

Thanks again!
