MI Box no video with HDMI receiver.

by natloh

I have a Pioneer VSX-532 and the MI Box on the April build of Nougat. When I connect the MI Box through the HDMI port on the receiver, my TV shows connected, but the screen is blank. When I plug the MI Box into the TV there is no problem.

I have a 1080p tv, and the receiver is capable of outputting 4k with HDCP 2.2. A first gen Chromecast is able to connect and display a 1080p picture perfectly fine.

Have any others experienced this? Does it have to do with Nougat?

Hi I have the VSX-531 and had the same problem. It's the hdmi or possibly hdcp handshake that's confused as your going from a hdcp 2.2 device to a earlier version in the TV. I 'fixed' it by putting a cheap hdmi splitter between the MiBox and the AVR this seems to trick the MiBox into falling back to older protocol versions

Worth checking for any firmware updates for the TV etc to see if they help but my 531 and TV are not updates let as far as I am tell , I'm hoping the full Nougat update will help but I'm not holding out much hope.
