I haven't been following the ATV news too closely lately.
Is it still only Tellybean doing video calls on ATV?
Are there any new apps or news about tellybean dropping the fb/google login requirement, so that it would be possible to place video calls inside mainland China?

I think it's still only Tellybean and only fb/google login.
I've been looking for other apps but haven't found anything else yet. Works fine on my mi box and nvidia shield but crashes right when the video feed connects on my LeEco Super4 X55. I sent error logs and emails but haven't heard anything from Tellybean -oh well.
