2 Mi or not 2 Mi .....

by TxCoastal

roku user here... so..roku has decided to start playing policeman with private apps... looking at the Mi box (MDZ-16-AB) as an alternative to watch my streaming app and an IPTV stream..

i've got 100mb internet..so that's not an issue....

Is this going to provide what i want? (not a netflix uses, nor hulu, nor HBO...none of that shite..)

cheers!

The MiBox should provide what you need. There are a number of IPTV apps that run under Android TV, and Kodi is always an option as well.

Because the Original Poster (OP) neglected to detail exactly what Apps he will be using every post in here will be "my box is better than your box" !

What "streaming App" or IPTV exactly are we talking about ?

MiBox will suit you well, though Kodi is a little slow (though it seems slow on every platform to me).

Someone will undoubtedly chime in and tell you MiBox is trash. But I love mine. Only issue I have is that I have to reboot it every other day or so because the Android TV Remote App on my phone won't connect to it. If you aren't doing 4k or Gaming it is a perfectly acceptable device.

There are rumors of a new Android tv box by Google. Wait for it.

Id get the Nexus Player, running Android 7.11 and has none of the bugs or glitches that affects the MiBox.
