[PSA] Netflix now supports 24hz on Nvidia Shield TV

by lolboahancock

Was surprised when I launched netflix and my tv changed from 60hz to 24hz. Checked there wasn't any app/firmware updates. Just PSA.

No idea if Mibox was updated though. But FINALLY we got 24hz 4k netflix!

Well the comments revealed OP is a dick

It changed from 60 to 24hz? Why would that be better?

i have last netflix app and last shield firmware but no auto switch...which version you have?

Thanks, updating my Netflix app now. Looks like I have a lot of updates to do, minus the Youtube app update of course.

Finally. Hope it also changes to 50 hz for PAL tv shows now...

Now only Amazon video needs to get its act together

This would be awesome! Will check tonight if Netflix does this at my Shield also.

Now if they'd only stop using those annoying DD+ audio streams, that'd be great.

Does amazon support this as well?

Also, I thought the shield had manual frame rate switching, is that not the case?

Now if resolutions could be changed on the fly like this that would be god send.

What is the version number you have installed? Mine is still a July build v4.10.

Netflix didn't change to 24Hz on my Shield. Is this for the Mibox only?

nads84

No changes on my shield!

First of all, not all shows and movies on Netflix are in 23.976hz, so it wouldn't make sense to automatically change when starting the app, should be when starting a video, what is Happening In latest Netflix versions is that the app remembers the frame rate with which you last opened the app and it forces it when relaunching which is probably a bug since it makes it hard to switch it to another frame rate sometimes.
