MI box "no internet connection" when connected to wifi, nothing works but Netflix

by BillDino

Really weird thing is happening, I'm connected to wifi (tried 2 networks and a reboot) and the only app that is getting internet is netflix. Everything else tells me it's not connected to the internet. Spotify is just a blank screen. I can actually cast spotify, the music plays but I get a black screen.

Edit I think it had something to do with date /time, turned it on automatic and it seemed to fix things

Edit 2; nvm looks like it's still messed up?

Changing Wi-Fi channel fixed it for me almost instantly after months of trying to find a solution. As per this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/lfn8qi/mi_tv_stick_wifi_problem/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Mine suddenly started doing this last week. Sling and Netflix worked so obviously connected to the internet but Play Store and other apps showed offline. Same problem whether via wifi or ethernet. Nothing I did worked, finally had to factory reset.

Disable and reconnect wifi in settings, it happened twice in 3 month for me, I think it's related to the fact that I have unplugged the box from power those 2 times

If you never restart you mi box, do that. Hold power button down and select restart.

Check the time/date settings. Sometimes it reverts to 1970 or something stupid. Mine done this a few times making apps not work. Can't remember if Netflix did though.

I had a problem similar to this last week, but only Google services are affected (Youtube, Play store, ...). Restart didn't fix it. Logging out of google account and in again didn't seem to help much. It just fixed itself in the end
