Depends on how poorly the app is developed/how good the devs of said app are.
Crackle still hasn't fixed their app for instance. Other apps like Netflix, Hulu, Plex, I don't remember having any issues.
It'll be a bit before we see O for Android TV.
I have the official release on my Nexus Player and the HBOgo Android TV app will not play movies. I am rooted with magisk and I have magiskhide enabled for HBOgo. Tonight I am going to reflash the official release with no root and make sure that isn't messing with it.
