word of advice: DO NOT buy a Mi Box directly from Xiaomi - returns are impossible

by RedditIsJustAwful

I have followed all of the proper steps and they refuse to send me an RMA despite a constant email loop of me demanding it. The return deadline is less than a week away. I have resorted to filing a PayPal dispute because they have made it impossible to return my product.

If you have to buy one of these (and I would suggest just saving up for a Shield as it is so much better) then do it through Walmart or somewhere reliable. I will never buy from Xiaomi again after this.

If you are in the US I dont know why you wouldnt have just gone to Walmart in the first place. I could return my grandma to walmart if they could find a barcode to scan.

This is exactly how it went with me, too. I finally gave up because it's not a lot of money for me. I finally made a filter for their emails.

Life lesson learned. I will never ever buy anything from Xiaomi again.

Maybe its just better to return through your credit card company then...

LOL xiaomi support was a joke for me, I asked for a controller replacement or for them to sell me one if the warranty expired, but they wanted to sell me a new controller, and wanted me to first ship my damaged controller to them. I bought the Mi box on Walmart Puerto Rico, they wanted me to ship the controller to someone in the main States , and that person should ship it to them. They weren't accepting my controller If i shipped it from Puerto Rico. I ended up buying a Shield Tv.

Are they just not replying, or what? How long has it been?

Do they have any social media to complain to? Usually gets them rolling.

There was a Xiaomi staff person on the /r/xiaomi forums and involved in the MiBox beta
