Firestick gen2 vs. another mibox3?

by ls3c6

I bought a 2gb/16gb s912 neobox but since it's not an official android tv box now way to cast TO it with youtube etc so going to return it for something that will, I own a 1st gen fire stick and a MIBOX3 from walmart. Haven't researched the 2nd gen fire stick I know it's faster... is the mibox3 still faster or which should I buy under $75 for casting and kodi?

I own both, and the mibox is the better of the two.

For casting and Kodi, the Mi Box.

Is Amazon Prime video important to you?

If yes, buy the Amazon Fire TV box. Yes its more expensive at $90, but the experience will be much nicer than the stick.

If no, buy the Mi Box.

While the stick may work, its under powered in comparison.

Also keep in mind, Kodi isnt officially on Amazons app store. Its laughably easy to add it, but itll be easier and have auto updates on the Mi Box.

I have a sideloaded fire stick 1st gen but it's wicked slow had that for years, I have amazon video working on my mibox. Is the fire tv box 2nd gen faster than all of them? I've been pretty happy with the mibox have to reset the power sometimes.

mibox hands down. Shield tv if you can splurge

Only Android TV devices, Shield, Mi Box, Android TV's support Chromecasting.

Chromecasting requires an Android TV licence from Google and you can bet they do not give one to their competitors Amazon Hardware.

And even then Android TV casting will not be as good or as reliable compared to buying actually Google Chromecasting Hardware. Yes it will do Youtube casting, but a bunch of Apps are not 100% fully tested for casting.

Even if Amazon Hardware is Faster it is going to be useless for you without Chromecasting support.
