I literally uninstall YouTube updates every day..

by ShAd0wMaN

I created this last post where most of us ranted about how bad the new YouTube update for Android TV is as you can not use your original YouTube accounts and they force you to use your actual Google account. This is a problem as we can't access all of our subscriptions, playlists, likes, recommendations, channels, and more.

They could at least offer a migration path or just allow us to use "brand" accounts. It has been 30 days now since release and EVERY SINGLE DAY I have to uninstall this terrible update to access my stuff.

WHEN WILL THEY DO SOMETHING!?

All I can say to do is continue to comment on this announcement thread here and continue to submitting feedback within the App on Android TV.

This is such a pain...

You could disable automatic updates in the play store.

I looks like Youtube added Brand Account support in New Youtube app https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/6xa61o/yesterdays_youtube_update_added_brand_accounts/

Also sideloading the main youtube app and using an air remote is also a possibility, as is using the Kodi youtube add on.

At least yours still works after you uninstall. I've uninstalled it a few times and it breaks it each time. Even after a reboot it's a no go.

'Brand' accounts were added in yesterday's update.

WHEN WILL THEY DO SOMETHING!?

I want to downgrade the YouTube app on my Nexus Player and I uninstalled updates from the Play Store. It brought the YouTube app down to version 1.1.16. I can see that there were numerous updates between that and version 2.

Last update before 2.0 was 1.3.11, but I can't find the x86 version on APKMirror or anywhere else. Does anyone have the APK for x86. Thanks if you can help in any way.
