I have a new model shield and went to play Spotify today but when i get in i cant move the selection box thing. I have been using Spotify since i got the Shield. Anyone have any ideas?

There is a bug in the new Android system webview update. Uninstall the update. A new update will be out by Sep 5th that fixes the bug. This affects a lot of apps apparently.
Are you using the stock remote, or another one like a Harmony? IIRC, when I configured Spotify on my Mi Box recently, something in the UI didn't work with my Harmony (I think I couldn't click OK), but using the stock remote worked for some reason.
