It is really ridiculous. This latest YouTube upgrade put 2 minute ads.
2 MINUTE ADS. Wtf. If there was an option to drop ads I'd pay it.
can you not block ads using a filter on the router?
If you don't mind having to use a mouse rather than the remote you could install Firefox and an adblock addon, I tend to use it over the native app on most of my Android devices since you can control playback speed, and the adblock is a nice bonus

Blokada is said to work with YouTube. Have not tried it although heard it was good.
