Moonlight, Dolphin, and Gamepad

So I'm planning to get a Mi Box, I want to stream Dolphin via Moonlight (by adding the game via Steam), and using Gamepad connected to the Mi Box itself, is this possible?

I've tried streaming it to my oneplus 3 and it works but I can't test the gamepad part (since I can't connect the usb controller to the phone).

I don't see the problem. I have two Xbox controllers and a Logitech controller all connected to my shield, and they all work fine with Moonlight.

It's doable, I did that to play New Super Mario Bros Wii on my Shield. You can still change controls, Dolphin will see an xinput controller.
