Does not support HDMI output

by alaskaking

Hi, I have a Minix box for years and I like it, but it's getting old and started to behave weirdly. So I bought a Mi Box, which I like. but there is one problem.

I have a local TV app which doesn't allow output to HDMI (it is supposed to be used for mobile) It somehow worked in my old MINIX box, but in the new Mi Box, it says "does not support output to HDMI". I guess this is the supposed behavior, but is there any ways to get around that? Why didn't the app detect the MINIX box is outputting to a TV? Thanks a lot

This is not the right sub for non Android tv. Android boxes. You'll find more help elsewhere. Good luck

The reason the mobile Tablet App worked on your MINIX box is because MINIX actually include a HDMI Spoofing function in Android device Firmware.

On the Mi Box, there is no such custom HDMI spoofing because its an Android TV device first and foremost. Xiaomi would not even test tablet/mobile Apps on it, let alone modify Firmware for HDMI Spoofing.
